Absolutely horrible during the first trimester. I made sure I always had plastic bags with me because I never knew when I would vomit. The smell of food cooking, even food that I liked, made me nauseous.

My worst experience, but also one that was somewhat gratifying, was when I was commuting to work on a bus and I was standing up. I knew that I was going to be sick, so I asked the gentleman in the seat closest to me, if he would please let me sit down because I felt ill. His rude remark was "oh you women will do anything to take a seat from a man". Needless to say, I warned him and then I promptly vomited inside his open briefcase.

Well, let's see. It started around week 6 with just nausea...I remember the first time it came on, it was completely out of the blue. I already knew I was pregnant, but I'd been feeling fine and was hoping to get lucky. Not so. That same week the vomiting came on, accompanied by the worst heartburn and acid reflux I'd ever had. I ended up in the ER at 7 weeks for dehydration and vomiting blood. They gave me Reglan there, but the second time I took it I had an allergic reaction to it (back to the hospital). After that, my doctor told me to take Pepcid AC for the heartburn. It helped for a while, but around 9 weeks I wasn't able to keep anything down at all anymore. I'd eat a popsicle and throw up. Take a few sips of ginger ale and throw up. Not fun. I called my doctor again out of desperation, asking if there was anything at all she could do for me. She prescribed Zofran. I had to take it twice a day for two days to "restart" my system, and then as needed. I am now 15-1/2 weeks and I've had to take it once a day, every day. If I don't I become sick and go back to throwing up 3-4 times a day (this happened over the weekend, when I attempted to skip a dose). I feel horrible about having to take something to control the problem, but it's either that or go back on an IV. It is a little better now than it was earlier in the pregnancy, but there's certainly no magic switch that turns it off at the end of the first trimester. So, in a nutshell, it has been AWFUL. My husband is already talking about having more kids, and all I can think about it getting this one out into the world first without any more major episodes!

Horrible!! I was hungry all the time, but just about everything made me puke before I ate it! Then I puked after I ate! I tried everything; ginger, crackers, ice chips, small meals, etc. Nothing helped! It finally got to the point my doc was almost ready to put me in the hospital. Then I chatted with a lady on-line who told me about the acupressure wristbands. I bought some that day and have only thrown up around 5 times since then! Now I don't wear them at all, but I still get sick sometimes, brushing my teeth is the worst. I know it is for a good reason, I will have a beautiful baby at the end, but if someone had told me it was gonna be this bad I might not have been so anxious to get preg! LOL! So I guess that is why they didn't tell me!!

I had horrible morning sickness for both pregnancies.
The first with my son was so bad because I literally could not keep anything down, not even water. At 4 months, I had to be hospitalized for dehydration and had an IV put in me for 2 days. I was 115 lbs (prepregnancy weight was 104) when I was 9 months and my son was born 6 lbs, 6 oz.

My second pregnancy was not so bad, but horrible nonetheless. I remember drinking a glass of orange juice and then throwing it back up into the glass ice cold. Gross. I lost 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks of morning sickness.

From both pregnancies I've learned not to eat noodles (you actually have to pull on them when you're throwing up) and that milk tastes hella nasty coming back up!

I never vomited but I would feel nauseated off and on during the entire day. Mostly in the early morning and afternoon. Sometimes I would have no appetite at all and other times I would be really hungry. I did throw up one time because I took my prenatal vitamin (which made nausea worse for me), a benadryl, and drank some OJ. I think it was too harsh on my tummy so within 20 minutes of consuming it all, it came back up. If your prenatal vitamin makes you feel sick try having more food in your stomach and splitting the pill in half and only taking half.

Morning sickness was hell for me.

I threw up about 3 or 4 times a day. And one day I couldn't even keep water down. I had to go to the ER and get IVs to rehydrate me, and they prescribed me promethazine which is a freaking miracle drug.

I tried everything, ginger, ginger ale, crackers (I can't even LOOK at saltine crackers without the bad memories flooding in). EVERYTHING.

It stopped around 20 weeks.

I felt sick but never actually vomited for the first 3 months. I had to eat to stop myself feeling sick which is why I put on so much weight!!! Also I found evenings to be the worst time for me.
