When I think of those commercials I have a hard time remembering which sex they were, perhaps it is all the white (and fresh laundry). Babies usually have short hair, and it is often really hard to tell if they are a boy or girl, specially if their clothing doesn't give it away.
Maybe I should watch more baby commercials, but this would involve buying a TV. Maybe you could tell me which commercials you are talking about in particular so I can look on youtube.
But I see your point, and I don't think girls are any better than boys, perhaps they are using the girls to show more fragile qualities (which isn't true, but you know how the brain works and makerting). Scary thoughts really. Selling products based on sex, but whatever makes them their 20 million right?

Which commercials? I haven't noticed really one way or the other...
I am a mom of a girl and I am hoping so much for a little boy next time. Of course, I would be delighted with either, but a boy would balance out our family dynamic. And no matter what the ad's promote...it is still up to 50/50 chance....

I would say mainly b/c in the commercials the baby is naked its easier to keep the private parts hidden from view of the camera....rather than a boys! i have a son and i never really thought of it.....

Hmmm... I have not noticed that!
I usually notice babies wearing yellow or white, so I can't tell if it's a boy or a girl.
I suppose it would bother me a bit though.

Well if the baby's naked, I suppose it's easier to film without fear of showing its you know what - girls' parts are easier to cover up, plus, if they go wee, it's not going to go all over the studio set and product display.
