i think i have a lot of unnecessary files in 'local disk c'.how can i remove it.

Get Ccleaner at http://ccleaner.com cleans what you want it to clean and fixes things also.

Right click on the icons and select delete! Easy as pie! Just be careful that u dont delete the data u want! Good luck!

YOU CAN GO to your add/remove programs in the control panel and remove programs that you no longer use or need.

also defragment the local disk to free up a lot of space

this is what i do go to a random icon on ur desktop click delete use something like aim icon or a game and then its going to say something and a blue link is going to show click that link and everything on ur harddrive will show up and u can get rid of them its really cleans ur computer and then of crous click cancle or no on ddleteing the icon. i do it all the time

Did you create the files? If yes than right click on file and click delete. If you didn't create the files, leave than alone, they were probably created by windows and might be important.

Earases all unneccesary data...
