Hello everyone. My fiance and I just received a car (a camero) from his mom for free in great condition and it's good on gas. We plan on getting another car in the future but for now we have to make due with what we have since we're a new young couple trying to make it on our own. We're having a baby due next year and my question is does anyone know of any carseats that will go well in this type of car? Like the brand and where I can get if from. It's kind of a low rider. Please help if you can. All answers are very appreciated. Thank you!

Is it a four seater? with two buckets in back?

Youre probably going to have to leave the handle up on the carseat and put it on the passenger side with the front seat as far forward as possible.

Its a super tight fit, but you can make it for a while.

I feel your pain.
I am 8 weeks pregnant I own and LOVE my 2002 Camaro. I looked and safety wise - there is no carseat that fits into the backseat bucketseats. The seats are too narrow to fit a carseat. I have tried a couple of my families/friends carseats to fight the idea of buying a new car.

I also can't imagine me rolling out of the car at 8 months pregnant.

I am going to miss my Camille the Camaro.

I had a 2004 Mustang when I found out I was pregnant. Needless to say, I had to say goodbye. I went from my cute little sports car to a 2003 Tahoe(which seems huge compared to my little car). I understand your situation, but I could not find a seat the fit SAFELY in my back bucket seats. You will just have to do some research and see if it will be safe for your little one. I'm not sure about this, but would a seat fit if you used it without the base. I know this is not the preferred way, but if it is still safe this way you might try it. Definitely RESEARCH using the seat without the base first!

If it were me, I would definitely sell the car and get a more conservative car--a safer car. Cameros don't exactly have a good track record with accidents.

Look up safety records for all the car seat brands on www.consumerreports.com--I could tell you what worked for me, but honestly you need to do the research and the find the best.

I had a firebird and it was nearly impossible to get a car seat in and out because of the small bucket seats. It was really fun to drive and I loved it but I eventually had to part with it because of this problem and the fact that it is one of the deadliest cars and I wouldn't want my baby boy riding around in it. Try and see if you can sell it and get a more family friendly car.

Any carseat...but you should do some reasearch for the safest one possible to protect your newborn little one. Good luck!
