In Hairspray and High School Musical 2 Zac does really sing with his own voice but in High School Musical 1 Zac lip synchs with Drew Seeley's voice. After watching Hairspray and HSM2 and then HSM1 you can totally tell the difference. Personally I think he sounded much better when he lip synched.

Yup.They used Zac's real voice because people were bugging Kenny Ortega and Zac about his voice being mixed with Drew Seely's in HSM so they decided to put Zac's real voice on the 2nd movie.

According to the trivia sesction on IMDB, yes. His voice was considered too low for HSM, but for the sequel, they used his voice. You can also see the breakdown for what was really him in the original.

in the 2nd one its his voice, but in the 1st one they mixed his voice with someone elses because his voice was devloping into more of a deep voice, but everyone elses was mort high so it didn't sound good together
