Its just a fact of life, people will always judge you on appearances, its a subconcious thing and there is not much you can do about it.

Its good that your not going to change for it though, because if certain people laugh at what you wear then you will generally find that there are equally as many people that do love what you wear.

Besides i and many would agree that when i go to meet interesting people you usually aim for the quirkyiest, at least it shows that you have some personality and aren't afraid to express who you are, and what you like to wear.

Society loves to group people into neat little categories, it is much easier than actually getting to know someone. This tendency is at its worst in junior high and high school. A person must be a jock, a prep, a freak, nerd, goth or so on. The fact that you refuse to change yourself for these ignoramuses shows you are much more intelligent and open minded than them. Don't worry, when high school is over, you won't care a bit, it won't matter anymore.

It is funny, because when I was in high school (just 8 yrs ago), I was part of the "popular" crowd who were by far the fakest and most judgmental of all groups, despite appearance of having everything together. It is all a facade, we were all just sheep who were so scared of being judged. After school was over, I finally found the freedom to be myself. I totally respect you for being confident enough to dress the way you want to! I hate to say it, but all you can do is ignore them.

It's called being shallow. These are people who put a value on you based off what you wear...instead of getting to know you. Think of it as their loss. Next time tell them, "Well, while you're worrying about what I'm wearing, I'll be the next successful _______ (fill in blank) and you'll be just another statistic to society. I will NOT be signing autographs today!"

Watch their face...and see what they say next.

People judge by externals, instead by the true you on the inside. It's the old selfish part of human nature again.

People judge you because in reality they cant stand looking at themselves. Just continue to be yourself, dont change for them, it will only edge them on. Individuality is a good thing. Don't conform.

They shouldn't judge you at all.
I'm sorry you're having to deal with it.
Thank heavens I'm out of school.

If you can ask this question you are halfway to freedom. The next stop is not to care about their judgement.

becuase they really don't like themselves and project on to others.

If you are happy with yourself, you don't care about what someone is or isn't doing. Simple fact.

Just wear what you are, don't try to follow treands or something, your clothes don't make you who you are, what you do is what makes you who you are!
