The Vick supporters, sympathizers and apologists like yourself are blind to the facts about the seriousness of his crimes and really need to avoid hearing or seeing news about what Vick's fate should be simply because in our society cruelty to animals is reprehensible and you'll probably not want to see just what is in store for Mr. Vick.
There's nothing "blown out of proportion" here...Vick established and funded dog-fighting rings for the shear pleasure of betting on and watching dogs tear each other up, literally to pieces...what's so acceptable about that that we can simply look the other way and "move on"?
3-5 years in prison is a fitting punishment for his crimes and he SHOULD be banned from ever playing in the NFL again.
Oh and Michael...btw...
you owe the Atlanta Falcons $22+ million.

Thank you! Some of you are finally seeing that this is being way over blown. I guarantee that if you asked someone who were the other 3 that were alleged in the case with out googling the case, they could not tell you, because they have been conditioned by peta, humane societies, and the media to think Micheal Vick, Micheal Vick, Micheal Vick. And again I beg the question, where was these humane societies last year with this dogfighting? Before this case many people probably never heard of PETA. Dogfighting has been going on for several decades, why all the attention now? My opinion on Vick is yes, what he was involved in was very inhumane, he should serve some time, and he needs to learn how to make better judgment. But people need to get off the man's back and leave him alone. How would you feel if you knew half country hated you?
Gene L, you act like Vick established and started dogfighting, dogfighting started in the 16 century. As well as, if nothing is being blown out of proportion, where were you and other animal supports last year or the year before that? You people need to realize that whether Vick funded it or if I funded, it should not affect the case, I mean its wrong and cruel either way right?

It's a sad, tragic story. It's unfortunate he made the choices he did because he was talented. I think Goodell will reevaluate him after a 1 year ban when he gets out of prison the same way he'll evaluate Pacman Jones, Chris Henry and the others who are suspended. For his sake, I hope Vick gets it together and matures from this. It's really too bad for everyone involved.

As far as my opinion on Michael Vick, he's a hell of a football player who did some very STUPID things. He should be punished for what he did and hopefully he'll learn from this experience. As for PETA...ENOUGH ALREADY!!! The man is going to prison. Go back to doing whatever nonsensical thing it is that you guys stand for and shut up!!

Micheal Vick isn't a wasted talent he a product of his enviroment. It's a shame that when a athlete or anyone famous makes a mistake everyone knows about but when normal people like us make a mistake it results in a divorce, bankruptcy, and etc it shows with all that money you cant buy good mentors and role models

Sorry pal, you're wrong. Ijust watched his press conference and I must say he seemed very remorseful for his actions and I liked the fact that he spoke from the heart and didn't read some prepared lawyer crap. Still, dog-fighting is a serious offense and he was in it not for a minute, but YEARS. It is tragic that another African-American hero is being sent to jail, but he did a crime and must do the time. I think he will come out of prison a better man, and let's all hope, abetter athlete also.

I agree. The media has blown this out of proportion because there is nothing else out there to report. I think he should have some community service time and a fine to pay. The only reason why dog fighting is illegal is because people gamble on it and the government doesn't have the opportunity to monitor and tax the gambling. The government doesn't care about the dogs. Example: They plan to euthanize all the remaining dogs.
Neither do most people in other countries. Dog is a big item on most menus around the world.

I agree with you. This has indeed been blown way out of control. He is wrong for what he did, but again you are right- if it had been the average person it would have basically been a slap on the wrist. They are just using his status to set an example.

He should get a year for EVERY Dog he hurt and TWO Years for every Dog he Killed.
No one should hurt any animals, I can understand if the animal is attacking you then maybe.
I hope the NFL never allows him to Play EVER!
I hope the Judge throws the book at Michael Vick.
