E + R = O

Events + Response = Outcome

I don't control 99% of the Events in my life.

I have 100% control of my Responses.

If I don't like the way the Outcomes are going.....can't affect the Events, but I can change my responses until I get my desired outcomes.

I am responsible - 100% for my life and it's outcomes.

When I was 30 weeks pregnant with my son and put in the hospital with preeclampsia. I couldn't move from my left side. In the end they induced at 32 weeks and I had yet to even go outside. I was indoors for a total of 17 days before I was able to even feel the breeze on my face again.

And when my husband was sent by ambulance to the ER due to a heart attack--at the age of 30. And it was in the middle of a blizzard. Any my son (then 14 months) was sick. And I (being 3 months pregnant) had a fever of 101 and couldn't keep food down.

And when my father-in-law went in for a stress test and came out with a sextuple bypass.

Ironically, at the moment I found out that I was in control of much more of my life then I had suspected, simultaneously, I realized that things weren't necessarily in my control, but completely out of it and in the hands of an indescribable extraordinary something, perhaps the "Nothing", perhaps a divine being, perhaps one giant type of mind that we as a race, or we as living things, with powerful thoughts, feed into and off of ~ of course feeding on the type of stuff we think about. Nonetheless, its indescribable, presently ~ that which controls things. There is no doubt we can control more then we can even currently imagine; for we only use a small amount of our capacity, our brains. So, what is in and out of our control is an ever developing process in ones self that each of us is at a different stage at and is unique to that person, that life, that spirit. However, the developing process does not end there, it is merely just beginning, it is also contributing to the whole of, well, everything ~ like when someone discovers something new ~ now the living things of this world and indeed the entire cosmos have to in some form deal with this creation weather its now or later, weather it is something big like nukes or something small like a battery, regardless of its substance, its is now created and is out of control, but under our guidance so to speak. Indeed we are in control of a reality that is completely out of control and is being explored, expanded, and thus becoming more out of control every day. What will this look like in the future? Well, perhaps we are seeing a preview of it now; some people can live in this world in complete bliss, in complete harmony with everything they do or come in contact with, what ever they intend basically or want is theirs. While, at the same time their is utter hell on earth for so many, I won't even go into it but you get the idea ~ some are moving forward at a quicker pace then others and indeed quicker then humans ever have ~ some are moving slower, some are not moving much at all, many are spinning out of control... whatever...bla,bla bla...I just think that we have control of this body, we have control of our emotions, of our hearts, of our minds, our soul, but, that the world and other greater things are controlled by the whole. How big are we in this whole? Perhaps just a microscopic molecule in the big toe of a God or a titan, in a bigger world in a bigger cosmos lol, and thus not big at all, or perhaps we are much more, perhaps we are everything...=)

I've always thought there are some things out of my control, but also that there is more then meets the eye in this world.

Which things are you refering to? Some things are undoubtedly in our control and other things are definately out of our control. It just depends on how quickly one has matured and come to a basic understanding of the world around us.

For instance, me writing this message is under my control. However your response to this message is comletely out of my control. To think that we are not in control of our own lives is a copout of sorts. If we admit things are out of our control then that justifies not trying. So a lazy person may see things as chaotic, but a hard worker may view things with a bit more order.

The law of entropy makes us think things are not in control, but there is order even in entropy, ie plants and animals dieing to give way to new growth. In this world, making order from chaos can be a very illustrious career. This is why managers and CEOs get payed so much.

People who dont like this answer are probably the lazy people I mentioned earlier. They go home and cry that everything is out of their control, but they do nothing to change their current circumstances. Also, you people put the blame on others when in reality it is you who should assume responsibility for your own actions (or lack thereof).

I dont give a sh1t if you agree with this or not, welcome to reality baby.

When I went to church as kid and realized that God had something planned better than what I would have ever thought. I always wanted to be a lawyer until I went to church constantly and realized that wasnt my purpose.

It sure felt like things were not in my control when I was by myself wearing scrubs in an empty, unfamiliar room at the hospital. I couldn't see or hear anybody else.

My pastor reminded me AGAIN yesterday - if I would just leave things in God's control, I'd be okay!
