Seems like America forgot the old saying-
"If you want a job done right, do it yourself"
This is what happens when you outsource things just for the cheap buck.
Your question isn't that far fetched. I heard that the US has been importing goods from China at this rate for about 20 yrs. During a 20 yr span the autism rate in new born babies jump for 1 in 1000 to 1 in 133. (I heard this on talk radio few weeks ago when a listener called in) Is there a correlation ? Might be worth a look. Not saying China is trying to kill us but do they care about our welfare ?

Of course not.
If we can get a war going with China, we don't have to pay off our debts to them, and Bush can declare an emergency and stay in office.
The fact that the Federal agencies that used to check such things as poisons on imported food and goods have been gutted so more money can go to war profiteers just might have something to do with it.
The Chinese are just being good capitalists, cutting production costs to raise profits. The same thing is done here. It is free enterprise without regulation.
Some day take a look at the Constitution and see how many times capitalism and unregulated enterprise are mentioned.

Ever since the Chicoms ALMOST bought that California naval base and import 1000s of machine guns to arm the gangs of Las Angeles...I have been a bit suspicious. Lead will DUMB you down drastically if it doesn't kill you. Little magnets stick digestive tracts together causing bacteria into the blood stream.
Drying herb tea under plywood smushed by lead-fume emitting fork and other trucks, causes the leaves to absorb the lead.
Heavily industrialized areas have been blames scientifically to get the heat off the dryer personnel. Viet Nam tea may be less leadly from a another Chicom nation.
Lead in CANDLES is especially scary. Chinese candles are EVERYWHERE!

Its a matter of lower or no standards and oversight in China.. not deliberate action. Ask the Russians about the entire river system China poisoned for them due to inadequate engineering at a chemical plant.

They are merely doing what they can to lower costs. I don't take it as personal. I blame the American companies who are making the big money by having products made overseas. Have you seen any products lowered in price since they have been made overseas? Look at the automotive business. Cars are not MADE in the U.S. anymore, just "assembled " here. BUT, the prices go up every year.

No, they aren't trying to intentionally poison us.
However, they have very few regulatory or safety standards with the manufacturing of their goods (and/or local officials are easily bribed), so it isn't surprising that they are cutting corners to make more money.
Its the American way, but done in Communist China now.

I think it's a valid question. I don't know that this is being done with the knowledge of the Chinese Government, but it would at least bear some investigation.

It is cutting corners in the industries by certain company presidents, not a conspiracy against the U.S.
