Hi,
I need some advice pleaseeee, I'm going to go college and study Business and IT and wanted to be a stock broker when I was older. Was wondering though how would I get the chance to be a trainee, what qualifications do I need and where do I have to go to be a trainee??

Thanks :D

You probably want to study economics over business studies.

Business studies is how to run/manage a business.
Economics is money and finance.

Also, you need to actually enjoy the job you want to do. I assume you just want to do it because of the money.

this is my 3rd year as a financial advisor, I am still not making the money i was promised to make, but on the upside, i make my own hours, I get to spend the weekend with my kids and their is potential. Bottom line, if you have to build your book of business from scratch, statistically speaking, you are not going to make it. If you can inherit a book of business your chances increase proportionally with the size of the book. Don't anticipate making the 6 figure salary they promise, it takes a lot of luck to get to that point, and you wont in the first 5 to 10 years at least!

Call the HR departments at several brokerages and ask what they are listing as qualifications for that position .

They are the ones that reallllly know !
