I had breast cancer in 1998, my upper body looks like I WENT THROUGH A MEAT GRINDER.

I don't really think that would be grounds to file a suit. I mean, I had surgery a few years ago and one of my incisions burst open a MONTH after surgery! The doctor could never have foreseen that. Unless you can prove your incision opening and infection were due to any type of negligence by the doctor, I don't think there's much you can do.
Hope eveything works out and I wish you a speedy recovery!

You CAN NOT sue because your stitches broke open after surgery. When you agreed to have the surgery and signed the waiver you gave up your right to file a suit over sutures popping. It's one of the risks you accepted, sutures do open up, especially if you don't follow your doctor's orders completely. There's absolutely nothing that can be done to the doctor or the hospital because your sutures popped and reopened the wound.

Do see a doctor and get the infection taken care of. Good luck, I wish you a speedy recovery!

Sadly stitches break from time to time so I doubt you would be able to file suit for this. Most of the times when you are discharged from the hospital you are required to sign some paperwork that would cover this stating that the hospital is not liable once you are released from their care. Hope your infection clears up soon.!

I have no doubt you can find a lawyer who will file the suit for you, but I can't tell from your information whether there is any chance of success. It involves when and why it broke open, how the infection was acquired, whether you went against any medical guidelines (like no lifting, etc.), and other things.

Unfortunately, suture failure is not something that can be blamed on the doctors or hospital. It happens from time to time and no one's really to blame. So while you MIGHT find an attorney to take the case, your chances of winning would be somewhere between slim and none.

Sorry to hear about your problems... Good luck.

Well why did your stitches break? Was is something you did that you weren't supposed to be doing? I mean you can always file a suit...but do you think you would have a good case?

Yes, hell yes you should file suit.

Remember, "if the stitches don't take root, you must file suit!"

First though, get Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to hold coast to coast press conferences on how your civil rights were violated.

Next make sure the claim is based on the fact that the doctor used WHITE sutures.

Next thing you know, BAM, you're as much a victim as Michael Vick.

Good luck.

Good God no...people these days think they can sue for anything...stitches breaking open is just another risk of agreeing to have the surgery...deal with it.

I dont think you would be able to because of the contracts you signed before surgery. Hope you feel better.

No grounds for a case.
Do get that infection taken care of.
Good healing.
