i personally HATE her and her books, i hate her characters (except Alice) this is a very dumb soap opera book series. i wasted my time to try and read them. harry potter and the deathly hallows is a trillion times better than these pathetic series.

I think I may be in the same boat with you. I bought the first book, Twilight, because I had heard loads about it and it sounded something that would be worthwhile to read. And mind you, I am an avid reader, I will read anything that captures my attention. And for some reason, I had no desire to read the book!
I decided I would check out wikipedia just to see what the plot was like and I was reading all three plot lines on wikipedia and I was like "Wha?" It just seemed all so- stupid. I have no idea why, but I was reading the book and scoffing at Bella and Jacob and Edward and thinking- My God this is really crappy.
At least you read the books, I still haven't got two pages into the first chapter! I just had no wish to do so and put it down. And so now it sits on my bookshelf, gathering dust. I guess I'll wait until the toher two FINALLY come out in paperback and buy them just so I can say I have them.
But at the same time, you have to give Stephenie Meyers her props. She did give out a trilogy of some fantastic books (in people's opinion) and really inspired teenagers to get reading.
HOWEVER... HOWEVER, she will NEVER be able to touch J.K. Rowling's masterpiece series. I LOVED IT! The seventh book was fantastic- Oh my gosh!
You know how horror movies, in order to keep the series going, have its bad guys, like Michael Meyers and Freddy Krueger, make a deal with these spirits or cults or something that makes them immortal?
If you think about it, J.K. Rowling did the same thing in Harry Potter with the Deathly Hallows and the Horcruxes, BUT TO HER ADVANTAGE. I mean, the whole thing made sense in its own twisted, complicated, way. It wasn't something stupid and shlocky thrown into the book so she could make a few more bucks. She really thought this out and went up and beyond the call to make sure we were floored by this book and I can say YEAH, SHE DID HER JOB.
And I admit, I was kind of glad to see Hermione rebuffed by Lovegood. She was really annoying ever since Book 6 (sorry Rowling) being convinced what she thought out was RIGHT and like Luna Lovegood said, she needs everything shoved under her nose or she won't believe a word of anything else. Glad to see you are opening your mind up some more Hermione. :P

They are OK...they are not a "beautiful love story" nor are they intelligently written. Too many things do not make sense.
First of all, you need a likeable main character. Bella is not likeable at all. She is not smart, brave, or pretty. Yet, somehow, magically, all the boys in the school love her, even though she's a plain loser. Why? This is not explained.
Second, she and Edward love each other, but why? It dosen't say why, or when, they began to fall in love, the just do all of a sudden.
And Jacob? Why does he like Bella? We don't know, AGAIN, but he does.
Here's a hint, Ms. Meyer. Make Bella believable, please, because right now, she's the most annoying character in fiction.

I tend to not hate writers for the fact that they got published is something HUGE for them. If you have read PROM NIGHTS FROM HELL (her short story there is called: Hell On Earth) you would automatically like her, I think.
As for Harry Potter, it sucks but I don't hate it. Harry Potter is the most overrated, boring book I have ever tried to read. I know that many will give thumbs-down for that or disagree but I don't tend to hate writers, I give them kudos :)
Besides, if you get bored with them, why do you still read them?

You're allowed to have an opinion but do you think you could have put more critical thinking and intelligence into it? That read more like a bitter diatribe than anything else. Oh well. To each their own.
EDIT:
I got a thumbs down for that? Good grief.
