she has never shaved her underarms?

My mom is a homely bengali(Indian) woman of 45,she is working in public sector company.........right from my birth I have seen her in Sari and blouse(3/4th sleeves or simple sleeves)..but she started using sleeveless blouses from last month everywhere,home,office,parties......

but problem is she has never shaved her underarms.....people stares at her...and I really feel embarrassed....what can be the outcome???

Just tell her to get it waxed. Tell her that everything about her is really gorgeous, just if she waxed her underarms, it would look so much better.

Or for her anniversary or birthday, take her to the salon for mani, pedi, and surprise, wax!

Tell her to move to Germany. The women there don't shave under their arms and it doesn't seem to bother anyone there. Ultimately it's a matter of personal preference and if people stare and are upset then that's their problem, not yours. Accept your Mom for what she is, a kindly, loving person who brought you into this world and be supportive of her rather than embarrassed. Treat her as the individual that she is rather than the image you wish to impose upon her. Does she ever tell you how embarrassed she feels at your behaviour/dress sense/hairstyle or anything else about you that she disapproves of?

in many asian countries, people dont see shaving as clean....... if she feels comfortable about it then there is nothing wrong with that.....YOU are embarrassed about your mom then maybe you should work it out in your own head and not blame it on her....do you expect her to change a 45yr old habit just because you are ashamed or embarrassed? i am sure if you ask other asian women her age, they would tell you that they have NEVER shaved either.

Tell her to shave it... going out to a salon to get it waxed costs much more than a simple razor... And it only takes like 5 min. Or less in the bath/shower to shave it off. Tell her you feel she is embarassing you.

Nothing , allot of People overseas or from different countries don't or even use deodorant.

She probably won't shave and you'll have to get used to it. But you can suggest to her that it is considered normal to shave. Point out to her that hardly anyone has armpitt hair. (females)
