f(x) - f(a)/x - a f(x) = 3x^2 - 7x

i have no idea, do i just subsititue the a's or is there something i need to work out with it and can someone tell me how this formula is used in precalc and calc thanks

Apparently this is an equation. But in order to solve it, we have to know what f is. Otherwise, it's impossible to conclude anything.
