I played baseball from Instructional League (6-7), through my sophomore year in college (URI 1994.) Was an All-Star in Little League in 1986-87, and in Babe Ruth League in 1988-90. Was also the #1 pick in the draft for Little League and Babe Ruth.
My fondest (although heartbreaking) moment was catching my second (11) year. It was our first All-Star game, and our pitcher threw a 1-hitter. The opposing pitcher threw a no-hitter, and we lost on an error and the lone hit (a single) in the 6th.

Yep. I played for 15 years from 3-18 in various leagues. I was an All-Star when I was 12 and played on a travelling team the next 2 years.

When I was a kid... girls were not allowed to play Little League. Now they are but you still do not see very many girls playing at the Major Level and even less at the Juniors.

When I was a kid, girls weren't allowed to play Little League. We had to play on the girls softball league. I was really good and I was such a tomboy that the girls were afraid when I pitched! It was really funny because I was such a small kid too but, I guess I was intimidating because I looked so boyish..lol..

Some of my best memories were playing Little League....they stick in the back of you mind...especially the big games that we did not win....I recall several of the home runs that I hit...especially the first one....but the losses stick there the most....our coaches back then were mentors as well and recall them as being very influential in our lives...playing on an all-star team as an 11 and 12 were permanently etched in my memory...can replay the games like they were yesterday especially the year that we lost to the eventual Texas State Champion and still wish that I could go back and replay it....although a rout, under the right circumstances, we could have won....this is a game that was played in 1958!!!...but it was yesterday and I could name you everyone on our team and still recall the home run that Eugene Upshaw(NFL player rep)hit of me and actually hitting the flag in dead center as it went into orbit...it is still in orbit almost 50 years later!!!

Yes I did. When I was little, the boys and girls played together until 2nd grade where they split into softball and baseball. I remember I was the only girl on my team. Since then more girls have started playing and they have their own leagues.

Of course. I played in Babe Ruth baseball until I was 14 and then played Legion ball until the summer after my senior year.
