I had a very scary experience, but then I found out about pareidolia. If you think spirits are communicating with you, play with the ouija board with blindfolds on. Amazingly the spirit disappears after that.

That doesn't mean you can't have fun with it though. It's a game so get scared and have a blast.

There was a house a friend of mine was living in (Melbourne, Australia) that some "strange" things happened. Don't know about paranormal, but certainly not 'normal'.
When they first moved in (I helped them move) the house was obviously completely empty, apart from one thing. There was a crucifix (about 30cm tall) on the mantle in the lounge. Under this there was a note taped on the shelf by the previous tenet with this ominous warning - "DO NOT REMOVE THIS CRUCIFIX UNDER ANY CERCOMSTANCES". Being that we were about 17-18 we were going to move it and my friends mum screamed NOOO! So we didn't. Anyway one night we were sitting in the lounge and we heard someone whistling a tune. Upon investigation we could find no one around and there was no other source of sound (other than the telly that was on and it was not coming from there), When we returned back to the lounge and just settled into watching the telly again (the whistling had stopped) the crucifix 'jumped' off the mantle and landed in the middle of the room some 3-4mts away!
My friends mum also 'saw' apparitions - although I didn't believe those.
Then there was a glass light shade that also 'flew' off the ceiling and just missed my friends brother's head. The wedge shape shard (about 4-5cm) that broke off seemed to hover, then 'fly' through the air miss his head and do a 180deg turn in mid flight and land in a kitty litter box some 2mts around the corner, along the adjacent wall!

Now I know that there are perfectly good and plausible explanations for these events, i am just writing what I saw and heard. I also in no way am saying these things were the cause of some haunting, just spooky!

BTW we did do a search of the history of the house and found nothing unusual or gruesome in any archives.

I have also many many years ago been in a séance. We set it up very crudely by using a long stem wine glass and cut out letters and numbers and put them on a table. We were going along nicely when the glass tipped onto its side, and rolled – very slowly, across the table, teetered on the edge and fell onto the carpet. Now remembering that this was on carpet, you would expect that wine glass may just crack, break a little or even be not damaged at all. However it exploded, shattered into 1000’s of tiny pieces – the biggest bit we found was no larger than a couple of mm across! Again there is some explanation for this but it did certainly scare the hell out of us!

Yeah

One day I decided to mess around with the Ouiji board at a friend's house in Detroit. We got the corner which is cursed and all but didn't think much of it until:
1. A light broke shattering glass in the pool where the pool show we were suppose to watch was going to be. It was cancelled
2. The power went out. We thought it was just in the neighborhood at first but.... Remember the huge blackout in 2003 that went from Detroit to like Quebec and New York City....

3. We nearly ran out of gas trying to find gas which was really scary.

The first time I used a ouija board I was pretty sure that it wouldn't work. Me and 2 other friends bought one and they wouldn't use it at their houses; they were too scared to haunt them. So I said that we could use it at my house since I didn't completely believe that a spirit would move plastic across a board (don't get me wrong...I complete believe in the afterlife...but don't spirits have better things to do than talk to people over a board?). Well, we started using it in the spare bedroom in my basement. After talking for about an hour, the planchette moving incredebly slowly, me thinking one of them was moving it, it started to say weird things. It was spelling out nonsense and then my friend, Abi, asked "why aren't you answering our questions!?" The planchette moved to "go die". Abi, quick tempered, said "why don't you go die, *****?" Apparently she didn't think anything bad would happen after that...but right after she said it, I heard 4 loud knocks on the bedroom door. We were home alone, so I immediatly thought "My dad's home already". So I went to answer the door....and no one was there. I stood there, completely bewildered, when suddenly a heard a crash-like sound from behind me, and my 2 friends screaming. Apparently the board flipped off of their laps as though someone threw it, and we all freaked out and ran. I've used the ouija board after the incident, but I'm extremely careful not to do anything to make it mad, and never do it with Abi again.

I don't do Ouija boards but have plenty of bizarre stories. I am a ghost hunter so I am always in places where a lot of people won't go. I have seen mists, heard voices, been touched, and even seen a small child picked up. It has become more than a hobby with me, more like an obsession. The more ghosts I find the more I want to find.

dont know if its scary due to the positive result. but it was truely amazing...long long ago like it was 1966 My girl friend and me used the ouija in the summer asking ?'s. I wanted to know if I'd meet anyone special that coming fall in school....the answer were the initials of my future husband....no joke...but it didnt register with me until some time later. I had completely forgotten about it until my friend reminded me one day months later when we were using the board again....weird but true. AND the bonus is we have and are in a happy contented married life still after 34 years. Oh yeah it was a new school and never had I even visited the area he lived in. No way couldve been planned !!!!

Here is a great story and I can guarentee you its true, or at least very realistic.
http://home.comcast.net/~parainvestigator/Articles/OuijaBoard.html
Its all about some people who made thier own ouija board and brought it to a place that they were sure was heavily haunted. They blind folded two groups and asked questions for about 45 minutes.
Some very mysterious stuff happened.
The planchette moved aimlessly around in circles, the participants got tired, and none of the ghosts were talking to them.
Ouija boards don't work...........

I have a memory of playing with a ouija board as a kid and we asked it who we would marry. The other two girls got names we never heard of. I got some dorky kid from my elementary school. I figured they moved it to get a rise out of me. I told them it was all fake because they got people they didn't know and I got someone we all knew. At that age you just assume you haven't met the person you will marry. I forgot all about it and years later I remembered it after I was married that I married the dorky kid from elementary school!

I saw at night at moon light in my garden the spirit of one of my beloved dogs/it died some years ago/- a ghost of dog radiating white and silver light and playing as it played as alive with a ball ...
I was not afraid of this phenomena- it just came to see me and play with its ball.
