So if he wins, does that mean that the south will secede again?
This time, the rest of America will probably allow the south to go freely instead of fighting.

I got news for you, Bubba: "The South" is long gone. The South of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, i.e. the "South" of your imagination, doesn't exist anymore. You no longer have to be a white cracker to be mayor, governor, congressman, or even president.
Some redneck outposts undoubtedly remain, but what they'll "accept" is no longer relevant. Racism will never die, but it will eventually be marginalized and ignored by the majority -- it'll be just another one of those crackpot ideas, and people will wonder how it ever could have been so common.
It's a free country, though, so feel free to go to your grave as a racist -- that's the easiest way to cope, for a lot of people, and in the long run the problem is solved, whatever path you choose. I only hope you let your kids arrive at their own personal philosophies... they'll have to live in the 21st century.

I live in the south, am caucasion, and would have no problems voting for Condi if she ran. I think what you meant to say is "When will the Democrats learn they cannot win in the South no matter who they put on the ticket".

When are the Republicans going to learn that America will NEVER accept the authority of an idiot president(Bush)?
Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

No matter who is the next President, the South will have no choice but to accept his/her authority or leave this country if they don't like who's leading it, just like those of us who don't like who's leading it now, you live with it or leave it.

I disagree with you. I think people will have no problem with a president of color if they are qualified for the job. But the south is not willing, just as any other part of the country to hand over the reins of the most powerful nation on earth to a kid who don't know jack.

After Obama loses. Why is this a racist question? Bigoted toward the South, sure, but the truth can sometimes be bigoted. You said nothing racist; you said what many believe to be the truth, and an answerer from Alabama confirmed it.

My, what a racist statement.
I live in the South, and I would have no problems with a black president.
I can't imagine that the 30% of southerners who ARE black will have a problem with it, either.
When are YOU going to learn that your narrow-minded racist views do not represent the majority of Southerners?
