Take a few courses at the community college in something you like: cooking, dancing, photography, ect. That way you can meet people interested in the same thing. What are those interst that don't pertain? You can't out grow much, we sometimes have to ajust. For instance, when I was 21 I liked to go socilaize at the bars. Now, I go to dinner with a friend and have a few drinks. Or I spend an evening at the bookstore having coffee and reading a new book with my bf.

I'm not really sure, I'm struggling with the same dilemma.
I am still interested in some of the things I used to do but then others I could give a hoot about.
Problem for me is finding the new interest.
One thing I did do was purchase a motorcycle and took riding classes. I am planning on taking the advanced classes later this fall. But here lately it is just too hot to ride.
I am still looking for more things to do.
Good luck to you.

RE - interested in your life, AGAIN?
How did you do it the first time? Or do you mean this IS the first time? I say become as fit as you can. Change your diet to be as healthy as you can. Be kind to people and look for ways you can volunteer and help out. You'll feel a renewed zest for life and things will become new again.

You could always go to some bookstore/cafe like Border's or Barnes and Noble, for example. You are bound to find some topic that you are interested in. Intellectual stimulation is very enjoyable. It is for me and many others, anyway.
You can also go online and look for different groups in your area--groups for people interested in art, cooking, crafts, knitting, inventing, sports, etc.--any number of groups. Maybe you'll find something that appeals to you.
Have fun!

Then try something new. What is holding you back? Even if you are old and in a wheelchair or always using oxygen you can find an activity. My dad started playing darts because he can't run now. Its a good challenge for him.

pick up new hobbies
start walking in the morning. you forget how beautiful it is out. it will also give you time to clear your mind.
get a pet. they are loyal companions.
join a club or start your own (book club?)
yoga, golf, pilates, meditation

i recommend meditation.
when you can focus on your own internal self, your true interests and motivations become more apparent. ie be quiet and listen. notice what you like when you see it. join clubs related to a hobby. take a class to learn something new. but first you have to notice the direction of your interests.

If you have the finances to do so...travel. See the things you wouldnt normally get to see. When you travel you open yourself up for new adventures and to meet new people in cities you dont normally go to.
