How can there be benefits to having cataracts? You can't SEE!!! I had cataract surgery at a young age. I was blind as a bat! After the surgery I had really really good eyesight. I have no idea what the "benefits" to not being able to see are.

Anybody that is joking about it has no clue what its like to be almost blind you're eyes are so clouded.

Can't think of any benefits of cataracts, but just had to tell a few posters....that's glaucoma, man. Try smoking and saying you got cataracts, and the cops will laugh all the way to the jail with you!

benefits not benifits. :)

Cataracts refers to eyes becoming cloudy thus impairing vision. I guess a benefit would be that you don't get to see the ugliness that exists in the world but of course you also miss out on the beauty.

1) Anybody who asks you to look at something they think is infected, you can say "sorry... I've got these cataracts.
2) Can't be held liable for not telling somebody about the booger on their face.
3) You never have to babysit.
4) Everything feels more... feely.
5) Everything is easier to hear -- for better or worse.
6) Sense of smell is better -- for better or worse.
7) Sense of taste, same deal.
8) You can avoid birthday parties you don't want to go to because you have no way of looking at the date or time.
9) You're free to grope people without fear of criminal charges or serious retribution.

the only good thing about having cataracts is, they are easy to fix. my father had them, he couldnt see the tv. after he had them removed the first thing he saw was a squirrel running along a telephone wire,on the other side of the street. i was with him, and it was so wonderful. his eyes were beautiful blue again, too.

Absolutely none. Cataracts will cause you to go blind if they are not removed from your eyes.

Cataracts are not a good thing - better than being blind, but not good.

or if something awfull happens in front of your eyes and everyone else gets haunting memories, but your only get a blurry memory so you dont really get upset
