Alpha Centauri is a binary system with Alpha Centauri A being orbited by Alpha Centauri B. So, depending on the orbit it could be either of these stars. There is a third possibility in Proxima Centauri which is in the vicinity and may also orbit Alpha Centauri.

Proxima Centauri.
It seems that Alpha Centauri, a double star is the next closest and there has been debate about whether it is the closest.
