My 13 y/o younger sister has a limp in her right leg (inborn). But she is strong, resilient and smart. I want her to grow up into a strong woman, academically competent, and confident. I would like for her to see movies, or read books that encourage her to be just that. Any suggestions?

Even though they were both said, I agree with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Erin Brokovich. Erin B was a down on her luck single mother who never caught a break until she decided to make one of her own. She kept those who were important to her close and made herself into someone. Buffy is ultimately a lonely character, but her morals, values, and ability to love makes her one of the strongest women ever on TV or film. She may not have a physical dysformity, but she had a handicap that she had to overcome as well.

Any of the versions of Little Women. (Especially the Wynona Rider version.) Also, I watched a movie recently that was very good called "Charms for the Easy Life" with Gena Rowland.

I hope this helps.

It's a slightly dated movie but the best female motivational movie I ever saw was

Proof-recent movie with Gywneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopskins is good.
If she can handle it, there's GI Jane, which shows a woman can do practically anything.

Mona Lisa Smile is supposed to be a great one with Julia Roberts. I haven't seen it, but it's all about women fighting for their rights as human beings. This may be suitable for her.

However, there IS a bit if sexual content in it.

i do no longer think of a women individuals is physically powerful if she's no longer in touch approximately others and places their careers in the past kinfolk or associates. For wanting a guy, that relies upon on their sexual orientation. enable's say "wanting a guy" is resembling "wanting somebody to love her and for her to love them back". And, am I a good lady? properly, i would not call myself a girl. i'm nonetheless a youngster; teen. i would not say i'm good. I do what i think of is suited, truly some the time. I communicate my ideas and combat for rights, no remember if it is for me or others. i do no longer believe that occupation ought to ever be put in front of kinfolk, associates, or companion and teenagers. i don't desire a guy because of the fact i'm no longer fascinated in them. i'm in touch approximately others and myself. So, am i actually a good lady? To the standardized view which you particular, no. in certainty, i'd be very susceptible if i assumed in that trash. in my opinion, your spouse is amazingly good. according to danger no longer bodily yet hell, you have flow to be emotionally stable in-order to be good on the exterior in any case. For me, i think i'm very properly.
