Exhausted mean's you've been spent; you have no energy left. It requires some activity having taken place. Being tired doesn't require activity to have taken place. For example: You won't wake up in the morning still exhausted, but you might wake up and still be tired.

Exhausted is the feeling that you can't do ANYTHING. Tired is still being able to function.

Tired is just when you are moving more slowly. Exhausted is when you can just get to your bed, even that's an effort.

I would say tired is when your a bit sleepy and lay down and it takes you a few minutes to fall sleep.Exhausted is like when you are so wiped out that you can't even muster up the energy to get up when you have to pee!!
