For my Temari Cosplay, I found a PERFECT fan on Amazon.com. The thing is, it's so pretty that I want to be able to use it for decoration when the convention is over. Is there a way I can make a removable cover for the fan and paint on the cover?

What about turning the fan over to the backside and decorating it. Thin fabric with spray on adhesive. Shouldn't bleed through. Afterwards, you can pull the fabric off and turn the fan around to the front side and nobody will be the wiser. Just a thought. The wall fan I have is pretty thick and durable, so I think it would work.

I don't know of any way to do it. Have you thought about getting some balsa wood flat dowels and using the fan as a pattern to make another one that you can decorate any way you want? You can get the wood at most craft stores and the large pieces of rice paper can be found at most fine art stores. Do a web search for more instructions on how to make a fan.
