The reason I ask is because I am planning on walking with my co-workers in honor of one of their mothers, but I am overweight and wonder if there are other "larger" people walking. Now, I have two jobs (40-45 hours a week) where I stand on my feet, walk around a lot and carry heavy things, so I am pretty confidant that I can do the walk, I just worry about standing out and being the last person in, slowing down my co-workers and stuff. It's only 3.1 miles right?

You will be fine. You will get lots of encouragement!!! You won't come in last and if you slow down your co-workers who cares, if they are your friends they will encourage you not discourage you!!!

You are doing a great thing by walking in this fundraiser, BE PROUD!!!!!

One meter is 39 inches so a kilometer is 39,000 inches times 5 divided by 12= Total number of feet.
go buy yourself a pedometer and wear it on a daily basis. Get one that measures steps & miles. this will give you a rough estimate as to whether or not you can handle this. Oh, and if you go take water with you. You don't want to pass out from dehydration, its so embarrassing.
