Amberly is OK! When you ask your friends to call you Amberly, make a fun story up. Tell them that you took the name Amberly from a famous person in the past. You could say that it's after Queen Amberly of Prussia and she made it law that men had to cook and clean etc. You could make the country name, title etc. up or just use the name of an ancient country. If the name appears to be an importent one, your friends will love your new name.
PS - Shh, what is your problem? Requesting that my advice isn't taken will not guarantee the 10 points going to you. When you reach 27% Best Answers at Level 4, then criticise but at 4% I wouldn't value your input that highly. She's at school and is worried about her friends reactions. The best way to break her new name in is through making it fun until it is commonly used. I agree with her worries as school kids can be so cruel at times and she could become a target by the worst ones unless her change of name is controlled in a manner that kids find fun and cool. I say that she should go for the name change and through making it a fun thing to do, maybe many of her friends might follow on thus creating a new trend. Go for it Amberly!

I'm not sure if I ever heard the name of Amberly before. Maybe Amber Leigh. Anyway if your signed up at school as Amber...the teachers are going to get confused if you put Amberly Lynn or on your papers.

I like Amberly. Here is an okay way to do it. When your teachers ask what you would like to be called just say Amberly or Amberly Lynn. It is not to far from your actual name so you should be okay. Like my name is Danielle, but my friends and some teachers call me Danni. Hope this helped.

Okay, first of all, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, DO NOT follow Ken D's advice. That was probably the worst thing you could do.

But Amberly is actually a really pretty name. I think you should change your name, have your friends and family call you that, and make sure to let your teacher know you would like to be called Amberly. If other kids hear everyone else calling you that they will switch to it too. And don't worry about what anyone else thinks. It's your name.
