Sometimes I wish I could have been born sometime in the 24th century, or maybe the 30th, or perhaps the 15th millenium. I wish I was born in an era where humans have perfected space flight and can go out exploring the stars.
Human standards of living are at their highest point that they have ever reached. I can only imagine that in the future, humans will continue to live better and better lives. Hard to imagine, but we would find the standards of living from 1907 to be unbearable, and the people from 2107 will likely feel the same way about 2007.
But alas, wishing about it won't accomplish anything, so I will work my very best to assure that perhaps that is a gift that I can pass on to my grandchildren.

The 1870's would be a good time for me. I dont think I had a past life but history about the old west and it's famous people interets me alot. Have firearms from that era. I possibly would like to go from about 1830 to 1925. also.
I could almost see me being a mountain man or at least a town Marshall. Fun, daydrreaming isn't it. ( life would have been alot tougher then and if got our wishes, maybe we would regret it)

I was thinking the same thing the other day.
I wish i was around in the 60's and 70's. I would even settle for the 80's, I was born 83 so i dont remember and i was too young to appreciate the 80's.
But i love life and i am just grateful i am here and i am healthy

with all the options around, this is really probably the right era for us all, even you.
there are people and groups that live in huge varieties of way, and recreate past eras, even "live" in past eras....look at the Amish here in the USA.
The Society for Creative Anachronism holds Renaissance Fairs and recreates that time period all the time.
Farmers and ranchers and working the land still exist.
.
There are still places where people live as hunter-gathers.
Be brave. Be creative.
Hook up with people who have your same interests. If there is not a group, start one!

Sometimes I wish I was an adult (not a kid and couldn't enjoy it) duing the Dadaist / Surrealist movement around 1912 in Paris.
I would have loved to have been a renegrade female artist ... and the lover of Kurt Schwitters or Hans Bellmer or Man Ray!

I'd have loved to be a viking warlord, raiding the shores, pillaging, looting, and killing everyone who stood in my path, except old people, I got a soft spot in my heart for them. "Kill all the men, do what you wish with the women, lead all the children to slavery, but leave the old people alone." that's what I would have said to my warriors.
But other than that, I think I was born in just about the right time.

I would have preferred to have been born in the Julius Caesar era. Or even possibly the mid 1700's, oh hell, even the 1970's would work better for me.

I think so.
I love amenities.
Like hot running water.
Central heat.
You can still do the
Annie Oakley thing
in many parts
of the USA & world.
Difference is you don't
have to dunk your head
in a bucket of cold water.
Or be considered
peculiar.
