The more time you work the more you will learn. It just takes time. Stick with it!

I thought they had little pictures of each food item on the register keys, and even detailed instructions about how much change to give back..... 'one quarter, 2 dimes and 3 pennies' or is that only at McDonalds. If its too hard for ya tell your boss you would rather sweep and mop the floor and clean up the tables etc. or do you know how to mop a floor? Anyways, whats so hard about saying "do you want a lid on your drink'?

After you finish your training they won't expect you to be some kind of expert. They'll give you more time to practice as you continue to work there. My advice to you is that if you don't feel comfortable working on the register, then you need to tell them that. Tell them that you'd rather prepare the food, and maybe when there is some free time in the restaurant, could you practice more on the register. When I worked at McDonald's in High School, my manager tried putting me on drive-thru. I told her I didn't like doing drive-thru and I wasn't going to work in that area during my shift and that I'd rather be on the register, and so that's where they preferred me to be because I was good at it. If they see that you continuously mess up on the register they will move you somewhere else in the restaurant.

What in the world do you need to memorize?? People tell you what they want you put it in the computer?? Not rocket science there buddy. If you have a prob why don't you ask the people who work there. Or get a job that you don't need to use your brain. Like a custodian or something. No memorizing there!!

Write down what you need to memorize in your own handwriting and read it back to yourself and then repeat it back in your head until you've got it right.

Instead of that, why don't you make up an online dating service
Mr."True Love Seeker" you don't have to use any memory for that... the internet does it for you.
