the correct phrases are:
'here are the details' because the noun (details) is plural
'i was calling to see how you were' i don't have a clue why this is but i think it is because it sounds better than 'you was'
collins grammar books are good because they are clear...just ask at any good bookstore (waterstone's/whsmith) for a grammar book suited to your needs and the staff will (or should) always help...

If you flip the sentence, it might make it easier for you to see:
"The details are here." You wouldn't say, "The details is here."
As everyone said, the second sentence is correct when you say, "I was calling to see how you were."

"Here are the details"
The word 'details' is in plural form so you also have to use a plural verb.
"I was calling to see how you were"
The noun "You", though in singular form, is an exception to the rule mentioned above. "You" always takes a plural verb. As in "How ARE you?" or "You ARE beautiful".

Here are the details
Here's the details is short for 'here is'
the apostrophe indicates a missing letter
'I was calling to see how you are' would be correct. 'Was' would never be correct.

For the first, both are correct, but I prefer to spell it out.
For the second, it is "how you were", for the event is in the past

Sorry, Black Rabbit - you are wrong. "You" does not take a plural verb. It is just that the second person signular and second person plural forms are identical.
