I need a site review for a website client I am working with and would appreciate any comments the community may give me. I am looking for design, usability, and overall usefulness of the content. Here is the URL:

http://www.quadrem.com/

This is an impressive site that has been designed well. What I like best is that each service has its own optimized page that can easily serve as an entry point into the site.

The main home page contains great information when you really stop to examine each element, although I admit my first impression was that it is a bit cluttered. It took me a moment to figure out what Quadrem really did even though the mission statement is clearly stated (it was one of the last things I noticed). I must admit that I had to work to find any flaws in the overall design and the above comment is only to give you a first impression perspective from someone who did not know who Quadrem was prior to stumbling onto the site.

Having said that, here are a couple of thoughts on ways to possibly improve upon this great site:

1) Perhaps make room for a brief overview of services/solutions on this main page with attention-drawing bullet points. Or at least draw more attention to mission statement.

2) I would replace the webinar box with a sign-up box for a FREE white paper download on Quadrem's solutions. Include FREE webinar as a bullet point for what they will receive for signing-up. Make it clean, simple, with a clear call to action. This should also have a checkbox for the newsletter (and allow you to get rid of the newsletter box that doesn't really make someone want to go to the trouble of entering their info). So this would allow you to collect some info on your visitors and give them a more compelling reason to submit their info.

3) Logos at bottom in first 2 columns and footer kind of run together. Would rearrange the middle column with News, Articles, then Events in that order, which will fix this problem but also provide a more logical order for a prospective client.

4) Providing Quadrem's Member Directory adds powerful credibility, but could also potentially help competitors it seems. Perhaps offering this to those who are registered guests, rather than not knowing who is gaining access to your resources. My goal is always to provide incentives to get their information and this seems like a great incentive too.

Hope this helps:)

Just a few things that quickly come to mind:
- Page looks very busy. I'm more of a fan of clean and simple design. Consider leaving some of the content as information found through further site exploration (i.e. Customers & Articles could be off a "Customers" & "Media" set of links, which is common for business sites)
- Supplier Solutions section is redundant information. The "Learn More" is available in the Solutions->Supplier Solutions link. The "Contact Us" is available there as well as on the Contact Us link.
- The top of the page (logo, menu, images, and second set of links) is decent. Not 100% sure that the second row of links works in every case but given the dynamic menus, it might be easier to ensure the mouse over on the upper menu doesn't interfere by overlapping if you moved the rows together.

Very nice! 4 very quick comments:
1. Hovered 2nd-level menus may be difficult to click...disappearing before one gets the chance
2. Moving image front and center appears without provocation and may be annoying or maybe even TROUBLESOME for some disabled users ...see W3 WAI statements ... perhaps allow for button to activate viewing?
3. You might make more contrast between print and background (i.e., darker, more blackish print!) for those with limited vision, older page viewers, etc.
4. Some arrows, e.g., "Learn more" and "Contact us" should be BEFORE the words to which they link instead of AFTER!

Good luck!
