I had surgery about 7 weeks ago for endometriosis and PCOS (surgery #2 actually). I'm not going into details about the surgery because if you know anything about PCOS or endometriosis, you should already know the details - it'll just keep this question from getting too wordy.
Anyway, since the surgery I've had severe pain, along with diarrhea and really bad gas every single day. Does scar tissue cause these kinds of symptoms?
The pain is just as bad as it was before the surgery & I had cysts that were nearly an inch in size on my ovary - you know those little buggers hurt like crazy.
Anyway, I know I need to see a doctor - so please don't reply with an answer that thoughtless. My doctor has a 5 month waiting list - I can't wait that long. I don't have a family doctor but there's one of those urgent care places down the street from my house. Will a doctor there know enough about my problems to actually help me? Or will I be stuck waiting for 5 months to get an appointment?

Maybe it is a bowl obstruction? It is not something that should wait so I would go to the doc asap because it can be potentially seriously.

I have had a number of surgeries for endo and scar tissue (4 going on 5). Each time at about 2-4 weeks post surgery I tend to get a partial obstruction. What happens I think is the scarring begins a few weeks after surgery. As it forms it pulls on your internal organs. It is painful and you have gas, diarrhea and sometimes vomiting.

I hope you get into the doc soon so you can start feeling better!!

7 weeks ago? Hmm, usually most woman feel better after that long, unless they had surgery with a dr. that did not thouroughly remove the endo-if that's the case then your pain/symptoms may not go away. The gas is fairly common right after surgery but your way past that. To my knowledge you will always end up with a certain amount of scar tissue from any surgery and lots of women with endo who have scar tissue/adhesions will experience pain from them, but I'm not quite sure how long after a surgery the scar tissue forms. Here's my best suggestion-call your dr., speak to a nurse-not his receptionist, and tell them what you are experiencing. I'm not trying to be offensive but any good dr. would squeeze a patient in good standing in if they were having dufficulties after surgery. What method did your dr. use for removing the endo-excision or burning? Did he say if he was able to remove it all? If he did not excise all of the endo-or if he, "got it all by burning it off" it is very possible that you still have endo, even if it's just a little somewhere, that is causing your discomfort-it's unfortunately a very common thing for lots of endo sufferers. If that is the reason you are feeling the way you do then I truely doubt the urgent care place could actually help you-but if it was for some other reason then they may be great. But I would first call the dr.'s office and speak to his nurse and explain to them how bad your feeling and how bad you need to be seen-and soon. If they can not accomadate you tell them you are in so much pain you are going to the ER, and if they still don't, find another dr. b/c that is not acceptable, then go to an urgent care or ER to make sure you do not have anything so serious that it requires immediate physician attention and then begin to look for a dr. who is well versed in endo. I wish you luck, I know how hard and frustrating it is!

If you are having severe pain you need to see a doctor. You can't wait 5 months. Ideally you demand that you regular doctor see you NOW and not 5 months from now, but a doctor at the urgent care place should be able to figure out what is wrong.

DO NOT wait 5 months to see a doctor. If you have an infection (caused by the surgery), waiting could cause irreparable harm.

Scar tissue used to be constructing in my frame after a million/three of my belly used to be eliminated as a result of bleeding ulcer. My masseuse labored at the scar -- it stung and harm, however she did not quit. It took on the whole a yr, however she used to be ready to damage the scar tissue unfastened. Cat would possibly not such as you touching it, however you'll be able to eliminate scar tissue by way of getting it to permit move of the tissue that's feeding it.
