According to the people at Howstuffworks.com, the shuttle does indeed have windshield wipers.

No, because they don't need to see where they are going when they launch, there on computer guidance and in space there is nothing to get on the glass and if you were traveling at 17500.MPH wipers would just blow off anyway ...

Nope. They launch only during clear skies, and will alter their landing site to avoid rain as well. No wipers needed.

Yes they do. They are a nice touch to your Bob Marley/Flower rainbow painted space shuttle with a crew wearing pink space suits...
