Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but...
I worked in IT for a very high profile brokerage company on Wall Street. I managed a group that supported Payroll, HR along with Financial applications. At year end, I was responsible for cutting bonus checks. There was a problem with the payroll application, and I had to make programming changes right before we cut bonus checks for the high rollers. There were 25 checks that were worth a total of 320 million.
Needless to say, I was quite nervous about my last minute program changes
