Where can I get a copy of my car's warranty? Also whats the difference between warranty and regular maintenance?

Do car service dealerships inform you when something is covered? How thorough are they with that or how often do you have to point it out to them?

Warranty should have accompanied the car when purchased. But remember, many warranties are not transferable from one owner to another. So if you bought it from a private owner, not sure what would be covered. If you purchased new or used from a dealer, copies should be available there. Regular maintenance would include oil changes, tire and brake replacement, regular tune-ups, items like that.

Depending upon your make, year and model of car a new car warranty generally is bumper to bumper free labor and defective parts replacement for 36,000 miles or 3 years. The drive-line may have a separate guaranty. It may extend to 60,000 miles or 5 years - Toyota's coverage.
Regular maintenance can be completely covered by a factory maintenance policy when you buy the car.
Without this policy it's the owners responsibility to have the scheduled maintenance done as listed in your complete car handbook or separate maintenance handbook. It would include crankcase oil and filter changes, cooling system service, air cleaners, cabin air cleaners, transmission fluid changes, tire rotations, alignment and wheel balancing if necessary, brake pads and shoes, rotors, belts and tires. In other words: Items that wear out or need service under normal driving conditions.

We could have helped you a little more if you had posed exactly the part or service you were thinking of. Then we could have advised you if it was a maintenance issue or a warranty concern.

Have a good day!

Your warranty should be in your owner's manual.
Regular maintenance is what you must do and pay for or any malfunction or failure of the drive train may not be covered under warranty.
Warranty is a guarantee that there are no manufacturing defects. If so, they will be fixed or replaced at no cost.
