i want to know what my child is talking about with her friends how do i do that with out downloading anything? but not using the computer she is on?

If you use AOL software to surf the web you can go to parental controls and get a report of everything she has looked at, and you may be able to find her AIM conversations there.

You can't check this at a website.
- Privacy issues
- Communication done between client->AIM Server->client (nothing provided by AIM to monitor, at least not publicly).

On your child's computer you could install monitoring software and that is pretty much the only way to check, unless you ensure the computer is in a public room that can easily be monitored by you. Our policy is that the computers at our place will not be in the kids bedrooms so we can all see what is being done on them.

There is obviously a trust issue going on between you and your child which should be talked about instead of going and looking for dirt on them.

not really sure about that, but there are a number of free progs that will log all computer activity. quite a few of them will send the logs to your email acct. i hope this helps

This is difficult as you have no right to do this without proper reasoning. Talk to your child if you have concerns.
