I think that the letter is well-written and does make a few good points. but while it may be true that the lip-ring can be taken off, it doesn't mean that she actually will take it off. Also, just because she has thought about it for a few months, it doesn't mean that it's not an impulsive decision. It is common for teenagers to feel rebellious and make decisions that they will later regret. She will be judged be people at school, both students and teachers. If she is attempting to get a job, someone would rather hire a girl who looks friendly then someone with the potential to scare kids. Also, there is a massive chance that she will regret and remove the ring eventually. And for something that she will most likely regret, why go through the pain and possible permanent damage ( it may be rare, but it is possible), By the time she decides to remove it, she can be forever scarred. And for the years in which the ring remains, she could miss out on possible jobs and friends. She can lose respect from teachers and other adults, and most guys wont want to kiss her, besides the punk kind, who probably wouldn't be in her best interest. All in all, I would strongly suggest not to give her the ring. But if you start to lean towards allowing her to get her lip pierced, at least let her think it through for a few more months.

Taking a walk with my almost-19-month old son. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and getting out with such an innocent and fun-loving baby really calmed me down.

I, much to my estatic joy, discovered several new rare specimens for my Spores, Molds, and Fungus collection...
Truly there is no greater satisfaction than that, don't you agree...?!?
(with the exception of finding a rare "postage stamp for my "Stamp Collection...")
I'm getting all flustered and sweaty just thinking about it...!!!
