One big way to increase your IQ level is to read. You can learn so much from a variety of books. The most important is vocabulary. From reading you learn so much whether you are reading a fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi, etc. Logic puzzles are another thing that I enjoy doing. It actually can increase your IQ, problem solving etc. The more you go to school, the more you learn.

IQ tests measure this general intellectual ability in a number of different ways. They may test:
spatial ability: the ability to visualize manipulation of shapes
mathematical ability: the ability to solve problems and use logic
language ability: This could include the ability to complete sentences or recognize words when letters have been rearranged or removed.
memory ability: the ability to recall things presented either visually or aurally
IQ tests measure your ability to understand ideas and not the quantity of your knowledge, learning new information does not automatically increase your IQ. Learning may exercise your mind, however, which could help you to develop greater cognitive skills, but scientists do not fully understand this relationship. The connection between learning and mental ability is still largely unknown, as are the workings of the brain and the nature of intellectual ability. Intellectual ability does seem to depend more on genetic factors than on environmental factors, but most experts agree that environment plays some significant role in its development.
IQ and Emotional Intelligence "Unlike intelligence quotient (IQ), which is considered an absolute given from birth, emotional intelligence is thought to be cultivated and enhanced throughout life."

IQ is intended to be a measure of cognitive potential (most easily defined as "ability to learn") that remains the same from young to adult age. However past the age of 28, it gets a bit more shaky. Intelligence is said to peak at around the age of 22, and remain stable until around age 28, when it begins to steadily decline. However, if you continue using your brain, certain areas of intelligence will increase, and the areas that decrease will decrease slowly. In other words, finding satisfying, challenging work is crucial to increasing intellect with age, but it WILL increase in your area(s) of expertise. Intelligence will decrease inevitably in old age, of course, whether or not you have disease. But exercise of both the mind and body will delay cognitive decline until a very old age.
