Why are Conservatives and Liberals so different when it comes to Gonzales?

The liberals seem to think he should go to jail, but conservatives seem to think he deserves the Medal of Freedom.

Why such a different view on modern American politics

I am a Conservative and I don't know WHAT is going on in Bush's administration.

This is the most secretive administration ever and so Gonzales' resignation does not surprise me because there is just too much going on in Bush's White House that we just don't know about.

I don't think there are any conservatives that know the situation calling for any medals for Gonzales. The list of republican senators who publicly called for his resignation is only outweighed by those who did so privately. He has been totally ineffective as head of Justice as well as in advocating the policies of this administration. He was basically called a perjurer under oath by the head of the FBI. He repeatedly contradicted, or clarifed, himself in testimony under oath.

I don't think anyone is sad to see him go at this point except Bushies who wear blinders and only watch Fox News.

actually i've noticed that most liberals and conservatives outside the white house have criticised ag gonzales. this bipartisan pressure led to his resignation.
