The only time your income may be effected by others when living in the same residence is if you are married to that person or you are being claimed as a dependent. There are some loopholes but that is why I said "May Be" effected. Feel free to contact them, because people receiving SS benefits receive them for various reasons. Each benefit have their own set of guidelines.
If you are together as roommates, you shouldn't have a problem. Just notify Social Security with your change of address.

That depends on why you're getting ss. For example, if you're a minor receiving survivors benefits as a result of a parent being deceased, then, no, you won’t get the money. The funds are payable to the custodial parent, not the minor.
