I own multiple guns, both of the rifle and handgun type. I also have permits to carry as well. Do I feel safer? Actually yes I do. I'm not one of the crazies that carry with a round in the chamber. My firearm I carry is loaded. But I do employ all safety measures that I can, such as trigger locks, gun safes, etc.

Yes I own a gun.

Owning a gun is no game and must be taken very seriously. A handgun has one function; to kill people, and it does it very well.

I have a conceal carry license and I like to carry anytime I am going somewhere I am not familiar or someplace I feel are not safe; like Dallas.

In my home I keep my guns is a safe that I can access with a key. I keep them locked because I have kids. I keep the safe near my bed and it only takes a few seconds o get open.

All of my kids are familiar with guns and know how to shoot them. My youngest of 9 wants to get his own .22 for target shooting but for now we usually just rent guns for him to use.

The reason I want my kids to shoot is I don’t want them thinking of a gun as a mystery and therefore something that they need to explore. They should be familiar with them and should at least have been to the range knowing how to use them.

I have a gun because I like the ability to protect my family or at least have the chance to protect them. I do not want to be a victim or rely on the police who will get to the scene of the crime too late. By the time they get there it will be a murder scene and they can write a report about it.

I own enough guns to necessitate an entire rack.

Two pistols are loaded 24/7.
I have a concealed pistol license.

Its not about feeling safe with a gun, its about being safe with a gun.

Yes, and yes. I've had people who, I think, were trying to suss me out about a break in, because they know my old man works 3d shift, about my being alone at night in the house. I just told 'em it didn't bother me atall, because I have the hillbilly alarm system. When they asked what that was, I told 'em, "shoot first, ask questions later, and dont stand on the carpet, bloodstains are hell to clean up.". Needless to say, *knocks on wood* no worries here.

Yes, and yes. I also have a concealed carry permit. I use all safety measures, but whatever unlucky fool that comes into my house won't have the opportunity to know that.

I don't own a gun.

I have two young sons who are very curious, and I would always be in fear that one of them would find my gun and ammo.

I live in a growing community that shall soon be gated, just like the two other housing areas on either side of mine.

Several cops own houses in my area.

I feel relatively safe, and don't need a gun for home protection.

At this point, I do not, but am going this afternoon to apply for my FOID card. With the tremendous influx in my area of illegals, I will feel safer at night having one in my home.
