This is my sixth weed free day. This time I'm quitting for good. After 16 years of smoking every day, I think I'm doing good, so far. All I need is encouragement!!

You are doing the best thing

I gave up a year ago almost to the day after 30 years daily
I was sick of how rubbish the quality had become.
The price of skunk is ridiculous and dont forget - its genetically modified !

You will soon wonder why you spent any cash on the stuff and tune into a different way to relax - the natural way.
The sleepless nights soon pass - just keep your eyes closed to rest the optic nerves and be a bit more careful as you go about your day until you are sleeping ok.

After 16 years using the stuff you will have become conditioned and so you shouldn't expect to feel vastly straight again - try to limit the ammount of ciggies you do, chew gum !

Do the things you couldn't be bothered to do when you were stoned and go for a bit of exercise (that will help you sleep)

Remember - you will still like the smell of it so try to avoid situations where you might be tempted to have a puff for a good while if you can.
Stick to your guns and before long you will be able to watch people skin up and resist any urge to start doing it again

It can be done friend
Best wishes

We gave up 15 years ago we put the money saved away and spent 5000 on a new bathroom with a jacuzzi the works it put 20,000 on the value of our flat we now have worked up to a detached villa in Spain own pool mm nice
I would not of had it if we still smoked we were lucky didnt plan it both gave up same day could no longer stand the smell of it
You have to clean the smell out of the house wash curtains carpets clothing to make it all smell how you would like it to
inside car etc
learn to taste your food its lovely keep your hands busy if some one offers you a sick stick say I dont smoke and mean it,you will feel so good about yourself
Dont sit with the usual pot of tea and 10 fags for breakfast start doing your housework and ave a cuppa as you go mints or normal chewing gum helps
Very good luck the first three weeks are the worst

Not smoking is helping to save one more life - not necessarily your own.

Write now get a piece of paper - calculate how much money you will save in the next 12 months. Every month (for the next 12), put the money in a NEW account and see how much you have on Setember 4, 2008.

Spend it on something/someone really special - upgrade your holiday - or maybe (for the first year) give the money to a lung cancer charity?

Hope this encourages you..... coz it's EXACTLY what I did 4 years ago and I'm still free!!

Quitting smoking might very well be one of the hardest things you’ve ever done, but the effects of smoking begin to leave your body even after the first 24 hours. When you quit smoking, you will begin to notice benefits such as easier breathing, less coughing, more energy, and a better lifestyle. It will get easier as you go, and eventually, you can be smoke free. Good Luck♥

I assume the weed is tobacco. I had to quit three times before I finally quit tobacco. What I found for myself I could not casually smoke. One cigarette and I was hooked. It should get easier for you each day. Chew gum or eat life savers etc. The important thing is don't dwell on it. When it comes to mind concentrate on something else. Good luck-you smell better already!

Bless you and good luck to you. That's the best news I have heard all day. I have been quit for 14 years and the day I stopped was one of the best days of the rest of my life. Hope you stay quit for good. It's a bad habit and expensive, too! Here's to you and have a wonderful smoke free life.

You are doing brilliantly !!! I gave up smoking 21 months ago so i know what your going through ,
You really will feel better and have more money
Every time you start to crave just get up and do something even if its walking up the stairs , it will take your mind of it , Remember the craving only lasts about a minute it just seems longer
Good Luck to you

You can do it!!! Keep trying I'm told it gets easier every day. I've tried 5 times after 25 years of smoking, and I still can't do it. Maybe the 6th time will be a charm.

Congrats! Remember it's one day at a time. Don't think too far ahead or you'll get overwhelmed. Just make it through moment by moment and you will be free of the whole thing!!

Soon (because times goes so fast), you won't even think about it!!

You should feel good about yourself for changing something so monumental and important in your life!
