Someone wants me to make a towel cake for them. They are buying the towels and a night gown, also the bath stuff to put in it . I am going to buy the ribbon and flowers and spend the time making it. so how much should I charge. The 1 cake I have made I spent $13.00 in ribbon and flowers alone. So how much should I charge.

when I am making something to sell, I tend to take the amount I've spent and triple it. Then, if I ask myself - would I but this item at this price? If the answer is no, then I adjust the amount, but never less than twice the amount I put into it.

If we were to charge a reasonable price for our labor, in addition to the cost of making it, chances are no one would purchase the item. It's a sad shame too. People just don't appreciate the labor we have put into our creations.

Even if the customer is buying the towels and accessories for the cake, YOU are the one creating the art. If you spend, say, $15 on the ribbons and flowers, then add an amount you feel is fair for the time you spend assembling the "cake." Your time is valuable.

i would take the cost of the ribbion and any other supplies and charge ast least double. If you spent 13 I would charge 25 dollars for the item but you also have to take into account how long it take you to make. If you spend a long time laboring over it than you might have to charge more for it

in my view - be sure what your hourly value would be properly worth, $5 an hour - no way, so how long does it take to make a real of a cake and then beautify the remainder of the cake. factors is one factor, no concerns there yet you should make the attempt to save, bake and it sluggish is effective and what approximately electrical energy. i'm no longer so particular that some bakers overcharge, you fairly must be attentive to it sluggish and expenses.....$20 is slightly below priced, properly a minimum of i think of it truly is. you have a skills, value to that end:-)

You'll have to charge a lot since you are buying your ribbon and flowers at full retail. $25.00 minimum.
