I don't see any royal families actually "ruling" any more in the progressive technologically modern countries. Britain's monarchy is like a living monument. It is part of the identity and tradition of Britian and I don't see her giving up the Royals any time soon. Americans are really interested in foreign royals because we dont have any except celebrities and we kind of make them our royals. The closest we ever had was the Kennedys, and that was over forty years ago. Nobody makes George and Laura Bush royals, even if his name is George. I can kind of see Hillary as a queen though, but she needs to get herself some little hats and suits that always come below the knee and sensible shoes.

Which royal family? There are over 10 in Europe alone. Only one in Europe is absolute (Monaco) all the others are figureheads rather than rulers. Constitutional monarchies are in general democracies where the Royal family reigns but does not rule.
