I don't know - I've never been to Texas. My guess would be that either someone in the Texas Dept. of Highways is superstitious, or the marker was stolen.

I don't know how many people remember this, but when President Reagan left the White House and returned to private life, they moved to a house in Bel Aire, I think. The house # was 666 some street, and they petitioned the Post Office to have the # changed to 668.
