No- it was not a ghastly show! At the time The Young Ones was cutting edge comedy ... it was one of the most talked about TV programmes. Fair enough, if you watch it now - never having seen it before, it probably doesn't come across the same way.
BUT, as for making a new series.... maybe - but it would have to be new people ... set in a modern day student house.... with issues to do with today (eg: Terrorism, greenhouse effect, Gordon Brown, etc...). Can you imagine Ade Edmondson stepping out of Holby City to do the Young Ones?!
I watched an episode the other week ... and it's funny how it just didn't make me laugh like it used to!

Funnily enough I was thinking about this, it is 25 years ago when it first started, it would be great if they did like a reunion series or even a one off show, to see what it is like with the original cast 25 years on.

I wasn't a great fan, but if the called it The Old Ones, with the same actors, I might have a look at it.

I prefer them to experiment in new comedies, I loved The good life, but I wouldn't want them to make new series of it.

A thousand times NO!...I do think they should repeat the old shows though.

The Young Ones were spectacular. I remember watching them on MTV when MTV was cool...then for a while Comedy Central showed the episodes.

Yes Yes Yes !!!
One of the best shows ever made.
It would be great if they could get the same actors, even though they would no longer be "young" ones.
I don't really see it ever happening, but it is a nice thought :-)
