A couple are seated at a table on a patio. They are interupted by a man (I think its Clease) who asks if he can sit with them. They oblige. As the couple are talking, he starts taking dishes out from his bag and smashing them on the table.

Ok, Ned I have your answer, It is from a Sketch from episode 36..orig air date is Dec 21, 1972... " Silly Disturbances" ..In the sketch the couple are sitting at a table (Carol Cleveland, and John Cleese) chatting, in walks The Vicar Rev. Arthur Belling( Micheal Palin) from the church of St. Loony up the cream Bun and Jam. I'll let you read the rest from my link....Thank you for helping me remember one of the great comedy troupe ever..
