Circular Motion Examples

In physics, circular motion is rotation along a circle: a circular path or a circular orbit. The rotation around a fixed axis of a three-dimensional body involves circular motion of its parts. We can talk about circular motion of an object if we ignore its size, so that we have the motion of a point mass in a plane.

Examples of circular motion are: an artificial satellite orbiting the Earth in geosynchronous orbit, a stone which is tied to a rope and is being swung in circles (cf. hammer throw), a racecar turning through a curve in a racetrack, an electron moving perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field, a gear turning inside a mechanism.

A special kind of circular motion is when an object rotates around its own center of mass. This can be called spinning motion, or rotational motion.

Circular motion involves acceleration of the moving object by a centripetal force which pulls the moving object towards the center of the circular orbit. Without this acceleration, the object would move inertially in a straight line, according to Newton's first law of motion. Circular motion is accelerated even if the speed is constant, because the object's velocity vector is constantly changing direction.

Rotational motion is the motion of an object in its own axis.The position of the object may or maynot vary. Circular motion is the movement of an object in a circular path. A circular path is a path that is at a particular distance always from the centre.When the circular motion occurs in 3-dimensional space,it is called revolution.

Circular motion what one of the First primitive discovery of man.
It led to the invention and Use of the Wheel which offered a great mechanical adventage with gravitation.
Each revolution represents a quantum amount of works.
Hence the work obtained from rotation is as follows;
Work/revolution = quantum power
Total work output =Quantum power times the number of revolution per second.

The motion of a body moving on a path such that at every point of the path the distance of the body is constant to a fixed point .
this fixed point is called the center of the circle and the straight line passing through this point from the middle of the circle is called the diameter of this circle and the half of the diameter is called the radius of this circle.
the motions of a tyre of vans and cycles and the motion of a fan etc.
