1) Genetically, they will have similar types of hair and similar scalp patterns meaning that what looks good on one will often look good on the other.
2) Some moms pick out everything for their daughters when they are young, from clothes to hair styles.
3) You generally dress, speak and act, like the people whom you hang out with. For many girls, their mom is a big influence in their lives.
It's not just girls, how many boys play ball because it is the sport that their pop likes, or where jeans/slacks because it is what theri pop wears. Families are just like that some time.

Perhaps an attempt by mothers for their child to emulate them. Maybe some salons give a discount or maybe a free hairstyle if they both have it done the same way. Not really sure, there could be a number of reasons. The one other I can think of right off hand is that maybe they want to be contestants in a mother/daughter lookalike contest. Of course this involves much more than just hairstyle. Ugotcher makeup, yer clothes, yer mannerisms, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Only mothers and daughter that i noticed w/ the same hairdo is Katie Holms & her daughter Suri. I would never want a hairdo like my mom I have my own style.

Yes, I've noticed that. That creeps me out a bit. I can understand if mother and daughter are close, but you might as well start up a troupe.

well my mum tried doing that with me when i was a kid she made me have this hair cut ( it was awful) next day i just cut it more with my own scissors so she had to change my hair style completely
i think its all about mums wanting their daughters to be their small little copies of them!! ( i think they mean it in a possesive good way).
