I don't like Bing's version of White Christmas at all, there are plenty of other versions of the song that I think are far superior (I don't think Bing had a great voice).
My favourite Christmas songs are;
Let It Snow
I'll Be Home For Christmas
Toyland
The Christmas Waltz
Merry Christmas Darling
Winter Wonderland
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)
Sleigh Ride
Silver Bells
All Alone On Christmas
All I Want For Christmas Is you
Here We Come A-Wassailing
Somewhere In My Memory
Mele Kalikimaka
Troika (okay so it's not a song, but it's a gorgeous piece of music and totally Christmassy)
and I always associate 'Put A Little love In Your Heart' with Christmas because it's from a Christmas film.
My favourite religious Christmas song is
The First Noel.
I also love
In Dulci Jubilo
Adeste Fideles (only like the song in Latin)
The Holly & The Ivy
Saviour's Day
O Holy Night
Joy To The World
Hark The Herald Angels Sing
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Do You Hear What I Hear
Ding Dong Merrily On High
For Unto Us A Child Is Born (by Handel)
and I always liked Cliff Richard's version of 'Little Town'.
I can't wait til Christmas, I hope I don't have to work again this year cos it's my favourite time of the year (far better than my crappy birthday, birthdays are crap once you're an adult).

Warrant - I Saw Red Phil Collins - Do You Know, Do You Care? <------NP Journey - Where Were You Robert Cray - I Guess I Showed Her Warren Zevon - Jeannie Needs A Shooter Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post Cross Canadian Ragweed - Wanna Rock and Roll The Alarm - Sold Me Down The River Sylvia - Nobody I also have to mention this song even though it's been mentioned before: The Undisputed Truth - Smiling Faces Sometimes The song was written by my good friend and shipmate's father, Joe Harris. Many a long midwatch was spent with his son Jasen recounting old Motown favorites and what Joe's doing today - which is starting up The Undispited Truth again with young, fresh faces. Thanks, Darth.

I do aggree with you in some sence, It is a real classic and its on my ipod under "Christmas Playlist" and it does get played often on the radio and adverts and stuff around the holiday. However i think there are more tracks out there that really put Christmas time better into a song/words. Like you said it doesnt give the message of Christmas; I agree. Thats why I think others are better.=)

It isnt Christmas without that song and Bing Crosby did the greatest version ever. The other favorite of mine at Christmas is Little Drummer Boy by Bing Crosby and David Bowie.

Yes, it's a great song. My personal Christmas favourite though is Queen's "Thank God it's Christmas". Slade's "So here it is, Merry Christmas", will also stand the test of time, and Paul Mac Cartney's "Simply havin' a wonderful christmas Time" is also up there.
My other favourite "seasonal song" is "In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry. Not that there's been much of that this year.

I love that song! I think just because of that song if it doesn't snow on Christmas I'm always a little bit sad. I live in MO so most years there is snow but it seems to be less and less every year:(

I think you have a great point. When everyone thinks of
christmas they think of snow men & sleigh bells.
Unfortunately I think there are better seasonal songs out there. I am an Aussie and have never even seen snow, let alone had the privellage of seeing a "White Christmas".
I believe there are better songs out there that everyone in the world could relate to & think "Yes, this is Christmas!"
It is still a great song though!!

In America yes it is one of the most beloved songs. I think Bing Crosby will live on forever in the American Hearts. And yes, a white Christmas is sooooo beautiful.
