I agree with dollybird that the judgment lies not with the public. But I do think judgment lies with the courts. The McCanns I feel are guilty of gross negligence. And I'm sorry dollybird, leaving your kids in your home while you are out in the yard is NOT the same thing as leaving your kids in an unlocked hotel room in a foreign country. Their negligence is beyond gross and though I'm sure they feel bad about it does not excuse them from the need to be punished, if only for the sake of the surviving children. And make no mistake, poor Maddie is dead. No one is a perfect parent dollybird, but a parent that leaves VERY SMALL CHILDREN alone in a hotel room it's safe to say is a very bad one.

oh for *****! sake. why are the words 'child neglectors' and 'padeophiles' being branded so easily by ppl who know nothing of other ppl using this site. everything about this case is speculation and some ppl here are just plain spiteful and sick in the head. they left their kids unattended because they thought the risk was negligeable, just the same way i leave my kids in bed at the front of the house whilst i am in the back garden some 300yds away, the risk is negligeable. now i'm not saying leaving such young children in an unlocked room was right but just maybe kate and gerry were niave enough to think that they would be ok. they made a massive mistake, they are paying the price and will do for the rest of their lives, can you all on here be so sure that your parenting skills are so fabulous, i'd love to be around in 10 years or so when your little darlings have either gotten pregnant, got hooked on drink or drugs, have stolen because they wanted something they couldn't afford or commited some other sort of crime then i can cry where were the parents, i blame the parents, because this sort of thing happens every day to middle of the road working and middle class parents, you can't watch your kids 24/7 and you can't control them either. the mccanns thought the risk was negligeable and at worst they are guilty of negelct this does not give us the right to critisie what they wear or who they see, everyone is far to crictical and ppl in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. not one of you is a perfect parent and until you are you are not fit to judge !

Grumples why do they want to play down the media attention because they have discovered that it has not helped their cause one little bit because of all the venom written about them.
Yes they were wrong and would gain more respect if they stood up and admitted this but they are learning that they are not as streetwise as first they thought they were. And that it takes experts to play the media at their own game.
These media bods have had generations at playing the berating game. And quite honestly I think the McCanns have only one thing on their minds right now and that is to find Madeleine than to worry about the media and the witch hunts.

Cool. I thought the idea for school days was great anyway. I loved both "The System" and "The Question" so much, but i think i will have to go for "The Question" first, and then "The System". I really love them all, but would love most to be in "School Days" and 2The Question" as they were my favourites. PS- I looked at the page you posted on ur profile, saw I am in the nominations- does this mean I need to re-audition? I would like to be a student, I loved the idea for the school story, the one you put under Ice Queen and would want to be one of the geeks/dorks/nerds. Ok, so my character is the new girl in town, who's weird and wacky parents have moved to start their new business venture, The Liberry Cafe-half library, half juice bar (I said they were weird). She is quite an introvert, although gets some unique-ness and individuality from her parents- she is an aspiring writer and talented flute player, and when it comes to her hobbies she doesn't follow the crowd. She has long, dark-blonde hair, and she likes it that way- she can use it to hide behind. She isn't plain, but she isn't beautiful-she's somewhere in the middle. She can get a bit embarrased by her parent's whackiness, but loves them really, and is grateful for them- they teach her that being plain, popular and one of the crowd isn't all it's cracked up to be. Of corse, its B&A were disscusing here- the Liberry would be a central area for book getting, after school chatting and first dates. It could even be the central area for "Book Wars"- a battle in which the pupil's book taste divide becomes more evident. For example, the four corners of the Library section could be as followed: "Epicdom"- all the fantasy geeks hang out here. They refer to it as their kingdom. "Classicland"- all the greatest people who read all the greatest books-both old and modern classics. The central area and the place where all the main characters would hang. "Tweenville"- all the 6-8th graders go here to fap over their sugary, twee little teen fiction books. "Non Fiction"- a boring section gets a boring name. Collectors, freaky obsessive others and maths teachers habitate this corner. BQ- The principle. As the ringleader of this whole project, you have to be the leader of the whole school!

there are a lot of unanswered questions .the mccanns were loving it when the media were beside them earlier but now seem to be less willing to be near them now.knowing sooner or later they will have to come home from portugal and then the bullets will start flying .the u.k. media are going to have a field day on these two so- called well respected people .i personally feel that they should not be alowed to walk free .they have neglected their parental duties for the sake of their own enjoyment.furthermore i have yet to see their two remaining children on any news network .i think that their time is running out and before too long guilt will win.

Where is the evidence of the McCanns courting the Portuguese press. The press saying the police are convinced you killed your daughter is not bad press, this is bad press.
'Wife-swopping' holidays
"According to a retired detective speaking on Portuguese television, Kate and Gerry McCann were 'swingers' who enjoyed wifeswopping with the friends they were on holiday with.
There was not the slightest evidence to support the claim, but the idea was picked up by Portuguese newspapers. "
'Intercepted' phone calls
Diario De Noticias claimed that police had 'intercepted' emails and phone calls between the McCanns and their friends and these provided 'decisive proof' that Madeleine was not kidnapped.
In fact, the McCanns handed over all their mobile phone and computer records to police.
'Forged' birth certificate
The Portuguese media claimed that Gerry McCann was not Madeleine's real father and had abused his position as a doctor to alter details on her birth certificate.
This slur has caused the couple particular anguish- all three of their children were conceived by IVF.

Since there has been a lot of baseless accusations (i say baseless as there is yet no proof that they harmed their baby) in the media, naturally the McCanns want to play down the media attention.
NOW, get this clear...this is not just to save their skins or in defense of themseves. This is for their Madeleine's sake.
The entire search for Madeleine is based on public support. The public is fickle. Reading media reports, baseless or not, against the McCanns could easily sway them away from the case...Who would suffer the consequences??? Not you or me, Grumples...just Madeleine.

I like every one else with a smidgen of humanity, would dearly love to see the little girl back safe and well, however, I do think GMc is totally over the top with his love affair with the media. As soon as he got bad press though he slides away and hides. I do think as well, at the end of the day they will both have to stand and explain their blatant negligence.

With you all the way on this one Grumples.
Sam J: We keep telling you - you ain't listening - you can't HATE people you haven't met, ergo NO HATE campaign. We DISLIKE the McCanns because THEIR - and only THEIR actions - resulted in Madeleine's predicament. Note I say predicament because we don't actually know what her situation is. And please try to be adult about this and stop reporting people just because YOU don't like THEIR opinions.

Really, there was a post last night that said, Gerry has silenced Kate like he silenced Maddy.
Many anti-McCanns responded and didn't even criticise her for that comment. Guess what, I got a thumbs down for doing so.
I don't believe most of you give a damn about the child, it is a hate Gerry campaign now, Madeleine is long forgotten.
Stop with the faux grief.
