This is a tough one because I hate to lie.

I got it.

I told the tree man that I did not need his help today and that I did not have money to spare when the truth was it was already dark at night when he showed up with his tree saw and he wanted the money more than he wanted the work.

I had already paid the man a lot to help out at the begining of the month but he spent it and he had forgotten the work had already been done.

It really is an act of kindness. I do most of the work and all he has to do is help out, but when I have the time and the money to give, I do, but; it was late at night and since then it has rained off and on.

He was actually supposed to see the neighbors, but; they did the work earlier that day when he did not show up. Plus I help them out so they really do not need him and neither do I, it is a kindness to let him have something to do.
